Hammond battles to nip Harrisville
NAC WEST DIVISION: Double by Stark-Ennis highlights Red Devils' seventh-inning rally

HAMMOND — James Stark-Ennis smacked a double to score Chuck Clemons and cap off a four-run seventh inning to give Hammond a 9-8 Northern Athletic Conference West Division baseball win over Harrisville on Thursday.

Stark-Ennis finished 2-for-3, and Taylor Kenyon went 3-for-4 with a double for the Red Devils (2-5).

Josh Hartle, Carson Patnode, Tyler Berwald and Adrian Fraser all had two hits for the Pirates (4-4).

EDWARDS-KNOX 3,

HERMON-DEKALB 2

Jeff Stone drove in the winning run in the seventh inning of a West Division triumph over the Demons in Edwards.

Stone finished 3-for-4 with two RBIs for the Cougars (3-4 overall, 2-4 league). Sean Sullivan added two hits for Edwards-Knox.

Kory Besaw, Tyler Amo, Dustin Fenlong and Dale McKay each produced a single for Hermon-DeKalb (5-5, 5-3).

HEUVELTON 8, LISBON 7

Blair Davis scored the winning run in the seventh on a wild pitch to give the Bulldogs a West Division victory over the Golden Knights in Lisbon.

Josh Dettmer contributed a double and a single for Heuvelton (9-0, 8-0).

Lisbon scored six runs in the sixth inning.

Josh Lassial tripled, and Scott Lawton supplied a double for the Golden Knights (5-2).

CLIFTON-FINE 4, MORRISTOWN 3

Casey Forkey struck out 11 batters as the Eagles downed the Green Rockets in a West Division matchup at Morristown.

Gordan Whitney was 3-for-3 with a double for Clifton-Fine (3-4).

William Griffith smacked a solo home run for Morristown (0-7). Roy Gilmour added two singles for the Green Rockets.

MALONE 14, GOUVERNEUR 5

Chad Woods smacked a leadoff home run as the Wildcats took an early lead, but they couldn't keep the Huskies down in a Central Division game in Malone.

Malone scored four runs in the third inning thanks to a two-run single from Brock Bannon. The Huskies (7-4, 3-4) scored eight insurance runs in the sixth inning.

Woods finished with two hits and two RBIs for Gouverneur (1-4).

MASSENA 8, TUPPER LAKE 3

Garrett Sharlow pitched three strong innings for the Red Raiders and went 2-for-4 in a Central Division contest in Tupper Lake.

Allen Bourden picked up the win in relief of Sharlow. Josh White drove in one run on two hits, and Nathan Pichette scored three times for Massena (6-2, 6-3).

Tom Coady led Tupper Lake (2-8, 1-7) with a double and an RBI.

CHATEAUGAY 6,

MADRID-WADDINGTON 1

Nick Farrell pitched four solid innings to earn an East Division win for the Bulldogs over the Yellow Jackets in Chateaugay.

Farrell added a two-run single, and Drew Boyea connected for two hits for Chateaugay (4-4).

David Uppstrom struck out 12, while Kyle Lawrence, Justin Putney and Quinn Shoen all singled for Madrid-Waddington (0-8, 0-6).

SALMON RIVER 6,

PARISHVILLE-HOPKINTON 1

Nick Smiddy had two doubles and scored twice on a three-hit night in an East Division win for the Shamrocks in Fort Covington.

Pat Durant pitched the win and also collected two RBIs for Salmon River (6-0).

Justin Pearson and Tom Jacot each had two hits for Parishville-Hopkinton (3-5, 3-4).

LOWVILLE 8, CARTHAGE 5

Brock Roggie's bases-clearing triple highlighted a seven-run second inning as the host Red Raiders beat the Comets in a Frontier League crossover game at Lowville.

Jeremy Gillen also delivered a RBI double for Lowville (12-3, 8-1), while Matt Roggie and Geoff Marks combined for the victory.

Tyler Abbass led Carthage (4-9, 3-3) with two hits and two RBIs, and Mitch Weaver contributed two hits.

WATERTOWN 7, SOUTH JEFFERSON 3

Will VanHouten finished with two hits, including an RBI triple, as the Cyclones rallied late for a crossover victory at Adams.

Will Jaacks also drove in a run for Watertown (9-4, 5-1), which scored all of its runs in the final three innings.

Jamieson Crast supplied an RBI for the Spartans (5-6, 4-5).

IHC 13, GENERAL BROWN 6

Dan Magovney smacked three hits and drove in two runs to help the Cavaliers to a crossover victory at Dexter.

Immaculate Heart Central (9-6, 3-3) finished with 17 hits.

Tom Hawthorne had a triple and three RBIs for the Lions (4-10, 2-8).

INDIAN RIVER 12, APW 7

The Warriors scored eight first-inning runs en route to a crossover victory at Parish.

Brandon Cavalet provided three hits, and Tyler Brown contributed two hits and two RBIs for Indian River (9-4, 6-0). Jarrod Mattingly struck out eight in just over three innings of relief for the Warriors.

Justin Green drove in three runs on two hits for Altmar-Parish-Williamstown (2-9, 1-8).

BEAVER RIVER 4, LAFARGEVILLE 1

Jared Martin tossed a two-hitter, striking out eight, as the Beavers scored three runs in the final two innings to win a crossover game at LaFargeville.

Bryant Staie led Beaver River (10-2, 8-2) with two hits.

Losing pitcher Garett Robbins had a hit and two RBIs for the Red Knights (2-8, 2-6). He allowed just six hits.

IHC 6, SACKETS HARBOR 3

Patrick Caldwell drove in three runs on two hits as the Cavaliers won their second game of the day, a nonleague matchup at the Alex T. Duffy Fairgrounds.

Dan Magovney enjoyed another strong offensive showing, going 2-for-2 for the Cavaliers.

Craig Rogers had two RBIs for the Patriots (8-3).
