Linnie B. Coffeen, 85, of 170 Conger Ave., died Wednesday afternoon at St. Joseph's Hospital, Syracuse.
Mrs. Coffeen and her husband, Arnold, farmed in South Rutland and Rodman and for a short time, she was employed at the former Chapin's Flower Shop.
Born Jan. 21, 1923, in Mexico, daughter of Glenn and Nina Curtis Marsden, she attended school in Mexico.
She married Arnold F. Coffeen of South Rutland on Aug. 14, 1943, at his home. Mr. Coffeen died May 29, 1974. Mrs. Coffeen later moved to the home of her son and, in 1998, to St. Anthony Apartments.
She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and gardening.
Surviving are a son and two daughters-in-law, Allen F. and Rita, Rodman, and Patricia, Norman, Okla.; a daughter, Lila M. Burns, and her companion, Gary Chapin, Dexter; two sisters, her twin, Laura Hall, Pulaski, and Helen Corwin, Melrose, Fla.; four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A son, Henry D., namesake and descendant of 1800 Watertown settler Henry Coffeen, died in September 1981. Two brothers, Charles and Harrison Marsden, a grandson and a great-grandson also died before her.
A graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Fairview Cemetery, Rodman, with the Rev. Beverly G. Bibbins officiating.
There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are with Piddock Funeral Home, Adams.
