Bartlett puts South Jefferson squeeze on visiting South Lewis
EFFECTIVE STRATEGY: Seventh-inning bunt brings home Chartrand with decisive run, keeps Spartans unbeaten against Frontier League opponents

ADAMS CENTER — Danielle Bartlett squeezed home Ashley Chartrand with the winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning Tuesday as South Jefferson eked out an 11-10 Frontier League crossover softball win over South Lewis.

Cassie St. Hilaire, winning pitcher Jena LaLone and Allison Hall each finished with two hits for South Jefferson (11-3 overall, 8-0 league).

Suzy Fazekas powered South Lewis, hitting a home run and a double, and driving in four runs. Nancy Newell, Jenna Kraeger and Heather McManus had two hits each for the Falcons (7-4, 6-3).

SANDY CREEK 4,

ALTMAR-PARISH-WILLIAMSTOWN 2

Courtney Claflin provided two hits, and Karlie DeCarolis drove in two runs to lead the Comets (10-0) to a crossover win at Parish.

Brooke Radley went 2-for-3 with a triple for the Rebels (5-6, 3-5).

LOWVILLE 20, BEAVER RIVER 3

Jessica Becker and Meg Kelly each banged out three hits, including a home run, to help guide the Red Raiders to a crossover win at Lowville.

Becker drove in five runs, while Kelly recorded three RBIs.

Chanelle Morse chipped in with a home run and three RBIs, and Jen Lee added three hits for Lowville (8-2, 6-2).

Emily Zehr accounted for both hits for the Beavers (3-7, 1-7).

SACKETS HARBOR 11, COPENHAGEN 5

Jenna Weaver batted in four runs to help power the Patriots to a "D" Division win at Sackets Harbor.

Dana Gorman went 3-for-3 and scored four runs, Shawnee Rice struck out eight in five innings, and Jessica Nappi added two hits for Sackets Harbor (6-6, 5-3).

Martha Sullivan supplied two hits, including a grand slam in the sixth inning, while Suesan Johnson went 3-for-3 for the Golden Knights (2-7, 2-6).

COLTON-PIERREPONT 11, PARISHVILLE-HOPKINTON 10

Molly Thomas beat Parishville-Hopkinton's throw to the plate in the bottom of the seventh inning to score the winning run in a Northern Athletic Conference East Division game at Colton.

Brooke Baker earned the RBI on the play with a ground ball to the shortstop. Baker finished 4-for-5 with a double and a triple for Colton-Pierrepont (3-5).

Bonnie Tipping gave the Panthers an early lead by smacking a three-run, first-inning home run. Brooke White was 2-for-2 with a triple for Parishville-Hopkinton (1-10, 1-9).

HAMMOND 12, HERMON-DEKALB 1

Jessica Measheaw struck out eight batters and earned a West Division win over the Demons in DeKalb Junction. Measheaw also smacked a double and scored four times. Nicole Davidson tallied two RBIs on a pair of singles for the Red Devils (4-1).

Natasha Sayer drove in the run for Hermon-DeKalb (5-5, 5-3). Darcy Matthews recorded two hits for the Demons.

HEUVELTON 20, CLIFTON-FINE 0

Heather Johnson gave up one hit in a dominating, five-inning West Division performance for the Bulldogs over the Eagles in Heuvelton.

Kara Leonard collected three hits, including a triple, for Heuvelton (6-3, 5-2). Casey Donnelly added a double and a single for the Bulldogs.

Olivia Langevin produced the hit for Clifton-Fine (0-5).

LISBON 5, HARRISVILLE 3

The Golden Knights managed five runs on just one hit to earn a West Division victory over the Bulldogs in Harrisville.

Mackenzie Walker went 1-for-1 with an RBI for Lisbon (4-1). Jessie Mehaffy struck out six in a complete-game effort for the Golden Knights.

Leah Malbeuf connected for two hits and two RBIs for Harrisville (5-3, 4-2). Katie French added a double for the Bulldogs.

MALONE 15, MASSENA 0

Haley Poupore racked up three RBIs on two doubles and a triple for the Huskies in a Central Division game in Malone.

Ashley Marshall blanked the Red Raiders and surrendered just one hit, coming from Marci Silver in the fourth inning. Abby Premo smacked two singles for two RBIs for the Huskies (7-0).

Massena falls to 5-4, 4-3.

CHATEAUGAY 19,

BRUSHTON-MOIRA 7

Kim Johnston drove six runs home on a 3-for-4 night that included a triple in an East Division win over the Panthers in Brushton.

Kristy Harrigan pitched the win and also went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs for Chateaugay (5-1).

Haley Dupree had two RBIs with two hits for Brushton-Moira (2-5, 2-3).
