POTSDAM — Bruce A. "Ozzy" Osgood, 41, formerly of Potsdam, died April 6 in Uvalda, Ga., as a result of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Mr. Osgood was a truck driver for McLennon Trucking Co., Vidalia, Ga., and was a certified welder.
Born Nov. 7, 1966,in Canton, son of Eugene and Helen Chase Osgood, he attended Potsdam and Canton high schools.
He married Linda Kicklighter on June 14, 2002, in Pigeon Forge, Tenn.
Mr. Osgood was a member of Cedar Crossing Georgia Baptist Church and enjoyed performing music with friends and family and playing the guitar, harmonica and drums.
Surviving besides his wife are his mother, Helen C. Osgood, West Stockholm; two stepdaughters and a stepson-in-law, Shelly and Christopher Phillips, Uvalda, and Christina Sanders, Lyons, Ga.; a stepson, Shannon Spires, Columbia, S.C.; four sisters, Roberta Osgood, Pyrites, Barbara Osgood, Potsdam, and Penny Osgood and Sue Ellen Kotary, both of Syracuse; four brothers, Randy, Lake Placid, David, Syracuse, Ralph, Lakeworth, Fla., and Brian, Loxahatchee, Fla.; three stepgrandsons, a stepgranddaughter, and several uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews and nieces.
His father, Eugene Osgood, died in 2005. Two brothers, Gary in 1985 and Terry Jo in 1997, and a nephew in 2007, also died before him.
A tribute of life reception will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the home of his mother in West Stockholm.
Arrangements are with Seymour Funeral Home.
A funeral was held in Uvalda, Ga., at the time of his death. The body was cremated.
