CANTON — Steve Rankinen of Williamsport, Pa., won the C-1 Pro race at the Canton Canoe Weekend for the third time in the last four years Saturday, finishing the 14-mile course on the Grasse and Little rivers in 2 hours, 9 minutes and 41 seconds.

Rankinen, who has also won the race in 2000, 2005 and 2006, finished 51 seconds ahead of Mirabel, Quebec's Steve Lajoie. Rankinen's brother, Jeff, of Jersey Shore, Pa., was third in 2:12.45.
