Pauline E. Krey, 93, formerly of Midtown Towers, died Friday morning at Samaritan Keep Home, where she had resided for six years.
Mrs. Krey had been a waitress at the American Hotel and Crystal Restaurant for many years. She was an elder care provider from age 70 to 80.
Born Oct. 9, 1914, in Altmar, she was a daughter of Daniel and Lillian Smith O'Brien.
She married Chester F. Barber in 1932. The marriage ended in divorce. She married Francis Krey Oct. 27, 1945, in Frederick, Md. A career Army man, Mr. Krey died June 5, 1952, while serving in Okinawa. Following Mr. Krey's death, Mrs. Krey became a companion to her first husband until his death Nov. 25, 1978.
She enjoyed playing bingo.
Surviving are two sons and a daughter-in-law, Robert Barber, Watertown, and Reginald and Carolyn Barber, Jamestown; a daughter, Diane Gallow, Syracuse; 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A daughter, Carol Sainato, and three sisters, Peg O'Brien, Reba Quinn and Evelyn Flynn, died before her.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Reed & Benoit Funeral Home. Burial will be in North Watertown Cemetery.
